The HTC Imagio (XV6975) is designed as an Iphone killer, the Look is polished, and controls are almost entirely touch screen. The Imagio has a nice weight to it and intelligent features abound, for instance if you lay the phone down on a surface while on a call with the screen face down speaker phone will be activated. I Truly do love my Imagio.
However this is where the problems begin. After just one and a half months the “End” button goes bad making extreme pressure required to make the phone turn off it’s screen, or ending phone calls. That’s what I get for thinking that less buttons would prevent non-functional buttons (Which is what prompted me to get the Imagio in the first place). After returning to the Verizon store and hassling with them over weather I would be getting a new phone or refurbished phone (and more) I finally was able to get a new phone. After hours of reinstating settings, transferring contacts, transferring files, and so on I am dialed-to-roll. Pleased I carry on my life as usual for about another month and a half and the same thing happens. This time the Verizon reps are even more rude and unknowledgeable than the first time. I am told that the reps for Verizon have not gotten any memos on this issue implying that I have broken this brand new, unscathed in any way phone. I do a bit of digging, the first sixty seconds yields message boards full of people who have had the exact same problem.
I now have my third Imagio (this one is refurbished) and I still love the phone. Among other things this phone has the best reception of any Verizon phone I have ever had. It plays games, has an intuitive interface with features I like. I do however use this phone for business and if it happens again I will not be able to justify using it or Verizon. It seems the real problems with the phone are that Verizon in not making sure that its customers are happy. Clearly a few months of tests could have prevented such an issue from occurring. So maybe the Imagio is just okay but look forward to increasing costs, and declining customer service with Verizion in the future.
